Why Los Angeles Couples Choose Expressions Weddings

Los Angeles has no shortage of photographers. What couples tell us they could not find elsewhere is a team that combines editorial-quality images with genuine cultural fluency, and that can scale from a two-person crew to a full photo and film production.

  • Experience you can see. Ray Qadri has led wedding coverage for over 25 years, and our 5.0 ratings on Google, WeddingWire and Zola come from real couples.
  • Photo and film from one team. Lead videographer and film director Max Rogoff is an LA-based cinematographer with a background in narrative and commercial work, so your film is planned alongside your photos, not bolted on.
  • Built for big days. Our Luxury and multi-day packages bring a team of four to six, covering getting-ready rooms, the ceremony and the reception at the same time.
  • Calm on the day. Reviewers consistently mention that we blend into the background, guide family photos efficiently and keep the timeline moving.

Los Angeles Wedding Venues We Love

LA venues range from historic downtown landmarks to coastal estates, and each one asks for a different approach to light and timing. A few of the places on our list:

Calamigos Ranch

Oak groves, lawns and rustic-luxe spaces in the Santa Monica Mountains, with soft natural light through the trees.

A 1920s Italian Renaissance landmark with a grand ballroom and courtyard, ideal for large receptions.

South Asian Weddings in Los Angeles

LA is home to one of the largest South Asian communities on the West Coast, and South Asian weddings are at the heart of our work. We know that a wedding here is often a series of events, each with its own rhythm and its own must-have moments.

For Indian weddings, that means the energy of the baraat, the colors of the mehndi, the sangeet performances and every step of the pheras. For Pakistani weddings, it means the dholki, mehndi, a quiet and respectful nikah, the baraat and the walima. For Bangladeshi weddings, it means the gaye holud, the akd, the reception and bou bhat.

We bring enough team members to cover parallel moments (the bride getting ready while the baraat lines up outside), we plan family photo lists in advance so elders are not kept waiting, and we know when to step back during religious ceremonies.

Los Angeles Wedding Videographer

As a Los Angeles wedding videographer, we film with multiple cameras so your film can cut between the vows, the reactions and the room without missing anything. Depending on your package, you receive a highlight film, a cinematic trailer and a full-length wedding film of 30 to 60 minutes.

Drone coverage is available on Signature, Luxury and Destination packages. Much of Los Angeles sits under controlled airspace near LAX, Burbank and Van Nuys airports, so our drone operator checks FAA authorization and venue rules before every flight, and we only fly where it is legal and safe.

Planning Tips for a Los Angeles Wedding

Plan around June Gloom

May and June often bring a coastal marine layer that keeps mornings gray near the beach. It is lovely, soft light for portraits, but if you are dreaming of a golden coastal sunset, September and October are usually the clearest months.

Build traffic into your timeline

Moving between a temple in the Valley and a reception in Downtown LA can take far longer than the map suggests on a Saturday. We help you build buffer time so portraits are not rushed and your team arrives before you do.

Check permits for public locations

Some public spots, including parts of Griffith Park, city beaches and Downtown streets, may require a permit for professional photography. We will tell you which locations are easy and which need paperwork well ahead of time.

Book early for peak season

Spring and fall weekends book first in LA, especially for multi-day South Asian weddings. Reach out 9 to 12 months ahead if your date falls between April and October.
